Tony's Bigger Barbecue is a charity event that took place every August Bank Holiday Sunday at Wellington Cricket Club between 2000 and 2010. With local food, real ale, games and live music throughout the day, the village fete atmosphere made this a hugely popular afternoon out for locals and visitors alike.
Organised almost single-handedly by town butcher and H2A co-founder Anthony Nicholls, the 2010 event was the tenth and final outing for what has become a much loved bank holiday occassion. Since it started in 2000, the Bigger Barbecue has raised over £16,000 for the NSPCC and Hope House charities.
