What are we doing now and in the near future?

Raising money: putting a museum together won’t be cheapPromoting the idea of a museum in Wellington through the local media (Radio Shropshire, Shropshire Star, Wellington News, Telford Journal) and at local events‘Put your Granny in the Museum’: collecting family stories for our living archive of local peopleArtefacts relating to the area: building an inventory of what exists with the aim of cataloguing and photographing to create computer based ‘virtual exhibits’Leading on from the above, building a fully fledged ‘virtual museum’ as a stepping stone to the real thing

 

Finding a home

We presented a report to Telford & Wrekin Council outlining our case for turning the historic Edgbaston House into a museum - see it by As the cost of purchasing Edgbaston House is prohibitive, the Museum Partnership's Property Sub-Group is now exploring other opportunities around the centre of Wellington

How you can get involved:

 

Come along to meetings – they’re open to anyone who’s interested. Meetings are held every 4 to 6 weeks at Wellington Civic Centre. To find out the date of the next meeting and ask any other questions, you can email the Secretary by
